"GRADES UP, SCORES DOWN!"
The Buffalo Inner City Youth Fan Club for Golfing Inc., is a non-profit
organization consisting of individual volunteers and the collaboration of area
community-based organizations, churches, colleges, and the professional golfing
community.
We encourages, support, and prepare youth from the inner
city to pursue the sport of golf and other athletic, academic and technical
careers. The program provides youth with developmental learning experiences in
addition to golfing instructions that are not only enjoyable, but educational
and effective in promoting academic excellence, teaching good citizenship, and a
life-long, drug free individual.
The program's objective is to introduce a non-traditional inner city sport as a
new learning activity. We create an interest in golfing and use that interest to
promote other learning experiences. The program employs the concept of
transfer learning to gain scholastic achievements and social skills. The
interest created in this sport is conductive to promoting a crime and drug
free environment, because golfing has all the behavioral aspects that help
produce strong character and social skills associated with productive, law
abiding citizens.
This is why the game is called The Gentlemen's Game.
Kids! Once you enroll in
the program and we set up your account, you can post your lowest scores,
as well as every score for every round you play! This enrollment entitles you to $1 greens fees at
participating courses: South Park, Delaware Park, & Harris Hill
